RCPI has a number of charitable projects active at any one time. If you would like to participate in a fundraising activity please contact us at projects@rcpi.club.

The most significant projects are listed below:

BLUE MAMMOTH 2

Modrý Klíč o.p.s. (“The Blue Key”) is a non-profit, non-governmental institution located in Prague 4. Since 1991, it provides social and specialized therapy and school services to mentally and physically disabled clients. Today, Modrý Klíč counts a community of 115 clients, aged from 3 to 70 years old.

About 75% of the day-to-day clients need special transportation from and back home because of the complexity of their handicaps. For these clients, it is the only possibility to reach Modrý Klíč every day, while they can still live at home within their family environment.

In 2009, Rotary Club Prague International purchased a minibus for MODRÝ KLÍČ with an electric lifting rear platform for wheelchairs. This success was made possible thanks to the generous support of individual Rotary Clubs worldwide, the Rotary Foundation, corporate sponsors and private donors. This blue bus received a nick name: the BLUE MAMMOTH, and has provided invaluable help to the clients and their families ever since.

With 540,000 km at the beginning of January 2024, this minibus was at the very end of its life span. Maintenance costs were skyrocketing and urgent replacement was needed. Total estimated cost: 120,000 euros. It was clear that, notwithstanding its urgency, such a project would need an estimated two years to be completed.

As a first step, RCPI initially obtained a very substantial discount on the minibus pricing, and in the end: RCPI contributed to the purchase of the transformed vehicle for almost 800,000 CZK, making our club by far the main sponsor of the new Mammoth!

This remarkable result was made possible thanks to the cumulated proceeds of Dragon Boat Charity Challenge to which Modrý Klíč participated very successfully, a memorable Gala evening held in November 2024 at the superb 5-star hotel NH collection Prague Carlo IV (net result: 400,000 CZK), the support of other Rotary club members, our Rotary District, corporate sponsors and external private donations. In October 2025, the minibus with its electric lifting rear platform was delivered and put in use right away.

The official celebration and presentation of the new minibus will be held for all sponsors and friends of Modrý Klíč in May 2026.

At Rotary, we know that the end of a project is just the beginning of another one.

She will tell you more about the multi million MK project „Domeček“, a small residential house for 6 adults with very severe disabilities. This building will be conceived to provide to its residents a safe, supportive and dignified home 7 days a week in a family-like atmosphere. The financing of this „Domeček“ will be partly ensured by state subsidies (negotiations running) and also through the support of corporate sponsors, NGOs and private donors.

Ukraine Crisis Relief

In March 2022, right after the Russian military invasion to Ukraine, we have received a first donation of CZK 300,000 to support the war refugees that started fleeing from Ukraine. A discussion about how we as a Rotary Club can help started, more donations came, and in April we were able to rent the first house for 12 refugees. In the course of the year, further accommodation was added and, in the meantime, we have been able to accommodate more than 30 people.
Some refugees have gone back to Ukraine and new have arrived. Besides the accommodation, we also provide basic needs such as food, clothes, school items, including computers, and toys. We have many members who actively support the project, be it with monetary donations, donations in kind or with active help such as e.g. deliveries, purchases or administrative work.

End Polio Now

In 1985, with the launch of its flagship PolioPlus program, Rotary became the visionary organization to take on the ambitious goal to end polio worldwide. At that time, polio crippled more than 350,000 children per year in 125 countries. Over the next 35 years, we have mobilized other partners, governments, and communities to immunize the world’s children against polio. We’ve kept our promise to work toward eradicating this disease, and the leadership, commitment, and generosity of Rotary members has brought the world 99.9 percent of the way there.
RCPI contributes regularly to End Polio Now through meeting collections, Vesela Koruna.

Cycling for Trees 2026

RCPI members are committed to service so naturally that they found new ways to serve through Fellowships. Many fellowships take on service projects leveraging their networks and resources. And so did the group of RCPI developing a charity programme Cycling for Trees - turning their miles into Czech crowns and also seeking sponsors from the club who are not pedaling to support their activity. The finances raised support environmental projects in a form planting trees alongside cycling alleys in cooperation with Nadace Partnerstvi (https://www.nadacepartnerstvi.cz/Co-delame/Projekty/Sazime-budoucnost).
